Partners in Flight Western Working Group Spring Meeting to be held in Penticton, BC! (15-17 April 2009)

If you are actively involved in bird conservation work in Western North America, this is for you!  This spring, Partners in Flight Great Basin Program, Environment Canada are hosting the Western Working Group meeting in beautiful Penticton, British Columbia, near Canada’s only true desert, amongst sagebrush, ponderosa pines, lakes, wineries, orchards, microbreweries, the land of peaches and beaches!

We are finalizing the agenda and appreciate your input. The draft agenda is now available.

Meeting Logistics and Agenda

The Partners in Flight Western Working Group is one of four regional working groups whose missions are to establish a regional strategy for the conservation of birds within their respective regions by developing Bird Conservation Plans that identify problems, synthesize information, and generate solutions to be used by resource professionals and the public. 

 

 

  • Vunerable to loss of habitat from urbanization and intensified agricultural development.

  • This shorebird is considered an 'honorary landbird' because of its terrestrial breeding habitat requirements.
